Senior Scientist, Center for Vision, Automation & Control, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology
Professional profileDr Csaba Beleznai is a Senior Scientist at the Center for Vision, Automation and Control at the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, specialising in machine learning and visual perception systems. Within the Assistive and Autonomous Systems research group, he develops innovative solutions to automate working machines, such as forklifts, excavators, and tractors, enabling them to recognise their environment and perform assigned tasks reliably. This is achieved through reliable visual environment perception combined with artificial intelligence, allowing autonomous systems to navigate from one point to another, execute tasks, and interact with their surroundings. The ultimate goal is to take over dangerous or monotonous work from humans and support them in challenging working environments.
Dr Beleznai has a particular interest in tackling problems related to category-agnostic object detection and 3D object pose estimation, where the diversity of objects presents challenges to the learning process. He has authored or co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers and is the inventor or co-inventor of eight patents.
