Professional profile

Associate Professor Dániel Paulin holds a joint appointment at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, within the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS) and the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. He earned his PhD from the National University of Singapore in 2014, following an MSc from École Centrale Paris and a BSc from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, both in 2009. After completing his PhD, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the University of Oxford. From 2019 to 2024, he served as a lecturer at the University of Edinburgh, UK.

His research focuses on Monte Carlo simulation methods, Bayesian statistics, diffusion models, uncertainty quantification, and applied probability. Specifically, he develops efficient sampling methods for high-dimensional models involving large datasets.

His work has been recognised through an invited talk at the Oberwolfach Research Institute for Mathematics.
