Leader, HUN-REN–SZTE Research Group on Artificial Intelligence, University of Szeged
Prof. Márk Jelasity is a Full Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Szeged, Hungary. He also leads the HUN-REN–SZTE Research Group on Artificial Intelligence at the University of Szeged.
His research interests include decentralised learning, self-organising systems, heuristic search, distributed computing systems, machine learning, and the theory and methodology of machine learning. He is currently focused on fully decentralised machine learning algorithms for IoT devices and the challenge of adversarial examples in machine learning.
Under his leadership, the HUN-REN–SZTE Research Group on Artificial Intelligence explores seven AI research fields: speech technology, natural language processing, software engineering, security, deep learning, self-organising systems, and the theory and methodology of machine learning.
Professor Jelasity was a Fulbright Researcher at Cornell University, received the Middleware 10-Year Best Paper Award, and was awarded the Bolyai Plaque by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
