Let’s meet in Budapest where the future of space research takes shape
The Space Summit 2026 has rapidly emerged as one of Central Europe’s most forward-looking international forums dedicated to space science, the space economy and transformative innovation. Launched by the HUN-REN Hungarian Research Network, the inaugural event sent a powerful message: the global space race is accelerating and Hungary is stepping onto the main stage.
The first edition was a defining milestone. It brought together world-renowned figures of space exploration and science — including Charles Simonyi (Hungarian born space tourist), Kapu Tibor (HUNOR research astronaut), Cserényi Gyula (HUNOR trained research astronaut) and Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski (mission manager, Axiom Mission 4) — alongside Hungary’s leading research institutes, universities and industry partners. Most importantly, the Space Summit marked the official launch announcement of the HUN-REN Hungarian Space Research Programme, opening a new strategic chapter for the country’s role in the global space ecosystem.
Building on this strong foundation, Space Summit 2027 will be bigger, more international and more impactful than ever. The conference will convene top researchers, astronauts, innovators, investors and policy leaders from across the global space sector, with expanded thematic tracks and deeper cross-sector collaboration.
Space is no longer a distant frontier it is a fast-moving engine of scientific discovery, economic growth and technological sovereignty.
Join us in 2027 and be part of the next leap forward.
