Dániel Paulin

Associate Professor Dániel Paulin develops advanced Monte Carlo and diffusion models to quantify uncertainty in high-dimensional AI.

Professional profile

Associate Professor Dániel Paulin holds a joint appointment at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), spanning the College of Computing and Data Science and the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. His international academic pedigree includes degrees from Budapest University of Technology and Economics and École Centrale Paris, followed by a PhD from the National University of Singapore. Before returning to Singapore, he honed his expertise through research fellowships at Oxford and a five-year lectureship at the University of Edinburgh.

At the core of his Artificial Intelligence research is the development of sophisticated mathematical frameworks for high-dimensional models. Prof. Paulin specializes in Monte Carlo simulation methods and Bayesian statistics, diffusion models, uncertainty quantification, and applied probability.

Specifically, he develops efficient sampling methods for high-dimensional models involving large datasets. His work has been recognized through an invited talk at the Oberwolfach Research Institute for Mathematics.
