Professional profile

Yan Jun serves as Deputy Director of the Medical Health and Bioinformatics Processing Professional Committee of the Chinese Information Society, and is Chief Scientist at the Medical Big Data Research Institute of Chongqing Medical University. In addition, he is a Visiting Researcher at Tsinghua University’s Intelligent Industry Research Institute and an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Mentor at Peking University’s School of Nursing.

His research centers on artificial intelligence for healthcare, with particular emphasis on knowledge mining, knowledge‑based machine learning, text processing, and information retrieval. Over the years, he has built a strong track record, securing dozens of domestic and international technology patents and publishing more than 100 academic papers.

Beyond research, Yan Jun has been deeply involved in education, standardization, and community building. He has supervised doctoral and master’s students at leading universities, was one of the early initiators of the OPENKG organization, and serves as an observer for the AI Medical Device Standardization Technology Expert Group of China’s National Medical Products Administration. Together, these roles reflect his commitment to advancing AI research while helping translate it into real‑world healthcare impact.
