HUN-REN, NTU Sign Memorandum of Understanding on Collaboration

Balázs Gulyás, President of HUN-REN, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Nanyang Technological University in Singapore to explore the potential for joint research collaboration between the two institutions.

Under the agreement, the parties will conduct joint research activities with a focus on practical applications and innovation. As a first step, they have committed to establishing an energy centre in collaboration with the Energy Research Institute at Nanyang Technological University (ERI@N). In the future, this collaboration could extend to other areas, such as AI and biomaterials development.

Balázs Gulyás, President of HUN-REN, emphasised: “The agreement further strengthens HUN-REN's international relations and creates new opportunities to put the latest scientific results into practice.”

The parties are planning a range of joint activities, including collaborations with other research institutes and university departments within mutually agreed frameworks. The agreement opens a new chapter in the lives of both institutions in the field of research and innovation, promoting scientific advancement not only for HUN-REN and Nanyang Technological University but also for both countries.

The MoU was signed on 22 October by Balázs Gulyás, President of HUN-REN, and Madhavi Srinivasan, Executive Director of ERI@N, representing Nanyang Technological University. The ceremony was attended by Csaba Lantos, Minister of Energy; Judit Pach, Hungarian Ambassador to Singapore; and Lam Khin Yong, Vice President (Industry) at NTU. Following the signing, the participants visited the ERI@N laboratories to view state-of-the-art research and innovations and to discuss future joint projects.
