GOVERNING BOARD
The principal executive and decision-making body of the HUN-REN Hungarian Research Network is the seven-member Governing Board, whose composition, duties, powers, and competences are defined by the HUN-REN Act and the Founding Charter of HUN-REN.
According to these documents, the Governing Board exercises the rights of the founder, adopts HUN-REN’s strategy, and elects the President as well as the Scientific Vice-Presidents. Its powers include the establishment, reorganization, and termination of research institutions, as well as business entities wholly or partially owned by HUN-REN.
Within its economic responsibilities and competences, the Governing Board approves HUN-REN’s business plan, overall budget, the budgets of the research institutions, and the regulations related to asset management.
The members of the Governing Board are senior executives of leading companies in the market sector and distinguished representatives of the scientific community with internationally recognized achievements. The CEO of HUN-REN and three delegates of the Directors General of the research institutions (László Buday, László Zsolt Garamszegi, András Stipsicz) participate in the work of the Governing Board in an advisory capacity.
