The CoARA Hungarian National Chapter was launched

The Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment, or CoARA for short, is a European initiative aimed at rethinking researcher performance assessment and defining new directions with the involvement of representatives of the scientific ecosystem.

The CoARA Hungarian National Chapter was launched

With the aim of implementing national-level advocacy, the HUN-REN Secretariat initiated the establishment of a Hungarian National Chapter in theHungarian Rectors' Conference summer of 2023. Currently, the national chapter includes the representatives of the Corvinus University of Budapest, the University of Debrecen (DE), the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), the Hungarian Accreditation Committee (MAB), the  (MRK), the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) and the Jewish Theological Seminary – University of Jewish Studies (OR-ZSE). The two co-chairs from the HUN-REN Secretariat and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences coordinate the work of the group jointly.

The first in-person meeting of the CoARA Hungarian National Chapter was hosted by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and took place on 8 November 2023. On the same day, the CoARA Steering Board approved the establishment and application of the Hungarian National Chapter. Further Hungarian members are expected to join the National Chapter from the CoARA that is constantly expanding and now it has nearly 600 members.
