Government Secures Funding: Historic Pay Rise and Recognition for Researchers Across the Network

A landmark decision marks the beginning of a new era in the recognition of researchers. Following the resolution adopted by the Governing Board of the HUN-REN Hungarian Research Network on Friday (20 June 2025), HUN-REN immediately requested that the Government provide the resources needed to implement a pay increase.

Today, the official government resolution was published, allocating HUF 18 billion in immediate support to raise the salaries of HUN-REN researchers and staff.

HUN-REN’s leadership will ensure that the funding reaches the institutions as quickly as possible, enabling colleagues to benefit from the pay rise without delay. Researchers and scientific performance remain at the heart of the network, and this latest step provides them with a stable and predictable foundation of support.
