HUN-REN Employees Now Eligible for the Home Support Scheme

Under Government Decree 361/2025 (XI. 25.) on the Home Support Scheme, the benefit may be used for the following three types of housing-related contracts: a housing loan agreement, a closed-end financial leasing agreement, or a loan agreement combined with a home savings contract.

Eligible applicants

HUN-REN employees who already hold a valid housing loan, mortgage, leasing agreement, or housing savings contract must submit their application to their employer by 20 January 2026. Applications submitted after this deadline cannot be accepted. The employer will transfer the support in a single lump sum in February 2026.

Employees who do not yet have a loan or leasing agreement but intend to purchase a property are also eligible. In this case, the support intended to cover the down payment will be transferred by the employer in one lump sum, and the beneficiary must notify the employer of the signed loan agreement within 180 days of receiving the support. For housing loan agreements concluded after 1 January 2026, the support may also be requested for loan repayment. If the application is submitted by 20 January 2026, the support will be paid in one lump sum; applications submitted after this date will result in monthly instalments.
