Excellence rooted in tradition – Martonvásári NemesMag Kft. has rebranded with a new name and expanded ambitions
The Agroverzum Experience Center at the HUN-REN Agricultural Research Center hosted the press conference where Martonvásári NemesMag Kft., the new seed brand from Martonvásár, was officially announced. Building on decades of tradition, the company is opening a new chapter in the domestic seed market.
Managing Director Zoltán Csulik emphasized in his opening remarks that the goal of Martonvásári NemesMag Kft. is to strengthen the brand’s position in the domestic seed market through a more stable, consistent presence. He highlighted that NemesMag’s professional foundation is provided by the breeding work conducted at the HUN-REN Agricultural Research Center.
The attendees were welcomed by Bálint Horváth, mayor of Martonvásár. In his speech, he referred to the preservation of value that serves to maintain the Martonvásár varieties on the market as “noble work” and wished the participants every success.
As the host of the event, Jenő Kontschán, Director General of HUN-REN ATK, recalled the milestones of corn breeding in Martonvásár—including the significance of the first hybrid corn in 1953. According to the Director General, one of the keys to this renewed collaboration is for researchers to breed new varieties that are even more closely aligned with market demands. He also emphasized that agriculture is part of the environment, a concept reflected in the brand’s visual identity.
During the program, Zoltán Balla outlined the communication and marketing objectives, while P. Kenéz Bakos, Commercial Director, presented NemesMag’s current portfolio and plant varieties.
The message and the goal are clear: building on the breeding traditions of Martonvásár and relying on market feedback, NemesMag aims to strengthen its role in the domestic seed sector.
