Another 29 Outstanding HUN-REN Research Projects Awarded Funding
The winners of the STARTING sub-programme of the Hungarian National Research Excellence Programme, managed by the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NRDI Office), have been announced. In the postdoctoral category, 29 HUN-REN researchers have been awarded a total of HUF 2,448,822,000 in funding.
In addition to the ADVANCED_24 sub-programme, funding decisions for the STARTING_24 sub-programme have also been announced. A total of 556 valid proposals were submitted, with a combined funding request of HUF 45,196,262,000. Based on the decisions of the Research Council of Hungary in collaboration with the President of the NRDI Office, 67 outstanding research proposals—29 of which were from HUN-REN—were awarded a total of HUF 5,846,708,000 in non-repayable grants from the NRDI Fund.
The main objective of the STARTING sub-programme of the National Research Excellence Programme is to provide funding to postdoctoral researchers to launch their independent research careers and to strengthen research creativity and excellence, according to the NRDI Office website.
