Research managers and administrators of HUN-REN also participated in this year’s INORMS Congress 2025

With participation from HUN-REN and record attendance levels, the INORMS 2025 Congress – jointly organised with the EARMA - took place in Madrid from 6 to 8 May 2025

This year’s INORMS Congress 2025 (International Network of Research Management Societies), theme was “A Sustainable Profession in a Sustainable World” and attracted more interest than ever before: over 2,000 research support professionals from 67 countries attended the event.

The event was co-organised by EARMA (European Association of Research Managers and Administrators), which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. The conference featured presentations by 300 speakers, offering participants the opportunity to broaden their horizon in a range of timely and relevant topics, including the application of artificial intelligence in research support activities, research security, best practices in international grants management, science communication, and sustainability.

The event’s hosts and organizers highlighted the critical role of research and innovation in the face of unprecedented technological advancement, pressing global challenges, and the ever-changing geopolitical landscape. They also stressed that research managers and administrators are pivotal to the success of European research and innovation outcomes, making it essential for research management and administration to be acknowledged as a distinct and respected profession.

With the support of HUN-REN HQ and the active collaboration of the Cabinet for International Affairs, a total of eight colleagues from the research network participated in the event.
