The Institute of Molecular Life Sciences Celebrates Its 75th Anniversary with Leading National and International Researchers
On May 31, 2025, the Institute of Molecular Life Sciences of the HUN-REN Research Centre for Natural Sciences (formerly the Institute of Enzymology) celebrates its 75th anniversary. To mark this milestone, HUN-REN RCNS is organizing a scientific symposium featuring presentations by renowned Hungarian and international researchers.
The opening ceremony will include welcome speeches by:
- László Hunyady, Director of Institute of Molecular Life Sciences
- Tamás Freund, President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences
- Balázs Gulyás, President of the HUN-REN Hungarian Research Network
- László Buday, General Director of the Centre for Natural Sciences
Keynote speakers include:
- Katalin Karikó, Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine
- Richard G. Pestell, President of the Pennsylvania Cancer and Regenerative Medicine Research Center and member of the HUN-REN Advisory Board
- Ole Holger Petersen, Professor at Cardiff University
Hungarian researchers presenting include:
- András Füredi, whose recent publication on "zombie-like" cancer cells received widespread attention
- András Nagy, returning to Hungary from the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute in Canada as part of the Research Grant Hungary program, now continuing his scientific work at HUN-REN TTK
