Marketing, Business Development, and Technology Licensing training organised by HUN-REN HQ for innovation managers working at HUN-REN research institutes
A key task of the HUN-REN Innovation Manager Network operating with the professional support of the HUN-REN HQ is to exploit the social and economic potential of scientific knowledge generated by the HUN-REN research institutes. In collaboration with the Association of European Science & Technology Transfer Professionals (ASTP), the HUN-REN HQ organised a business development training course for the innovation managers of the research institutes at the end of November 2023. The aim of the course entitled “Marketing, Business Development and Technology Licensing” was to promote the most effective exploitation of research results.

The two-day training covered, among other topics, the understanding of the business development role, the tasks and processes involved, the mapping of value chains that are key to the exploitation of different research results to identify potential partners, and the evaluation of intellectual property.

During the interactive sessions, the HUN-REN innovation managers were actively involved in answering key questions such as what the ideal characteristics of a potential exploitation partner are considering the specificities of the given technological solution to be exploited (e.g. technological maturity, position in the value chain), and where and how to find potential collaborators or exploitation partners.
By the end of the training, the innovation managers had gained useful information and inspiring experiences.
