The oldest corpus of Eastern Hanti, published with English commentary by a Hungarian linguist
The collection of Eastern Hanti texts by K. F. Karjalainen has been published in English with linguistic and folkloristic commentary by a researcher from the HUN-REN Hungarian Research Centre for Linguistics.
Márta Csepregi's decipherment, transcription, commentary, and translation of the Hanti manuscript corpus, collected by Karjalainen between 1899 and 1901, has been published in English.
The volume also includes a grammatical description of the relevant Eastern Hanti dialects. This is the oldest Eastern Hanti corpus, and its significance is outstanding from both a linguistic and ethnographic perspective. The volume is available at this link.
