‟For his outstanding achievements and work in the field of engineering and bioceramics, and for his activities in the ceramics community”, Dr Csaba Balázsi, Scientific Advisor to the Institute of Technical Physics and Materials Science of the ELKH Centre for Energy Research (EK-CER), was elected as an Academician Member of the World Academy of Ceramics (WAC). The official inauguration took place at the opening ceremony of the CIMTEC 2022 Congress on June, 21 2022 in Perugia, Italy.
Founded in 1987, WAC is the international ceramics community’s umbrella organization directed towards promoting progress in the field of ceramics and fostering a better understanding of the social impact and cultural interactions of ceramics science, technology, history and art.
WAC academicians can be individuals who have made an internationally noteworthy contribution to the advancement of ceramics. The appointment as an Academician rewards the individual's personal merits in the field.
WAC selects its academician members through a rigorous, yet democratic and transparent nomination and evaluation process to ensure that only the most outstanding researchers are awarded the title.
