Roland Jakab, CEO of HUN-REN, Receives State Honour

Roland Jakab, Chief Executive Officer of the HUN-REN Hungarian Research Network and Chair of the Artificial Intelligence Coalition, has been awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit. He received the honour in recognition of his outstanding scientific contributions to research and development in information technologies, his leading role in introducing technological innovations in Hungary, and his efforts to support the commercialisation of Hungarian inventions.

The award was presented by Gergely Gulyás, Minister heading the Prime Minister’s Office, at a ceremony held on 15 August 2025 to mark the national holiday of the founding of the state.
