User-Friendly Interface and Sleek Design for the Renewed HUN-REN Website

Following the adoption of the HUN-REN Law, a comprehensive renewal process has commenced within the Hungarian Research Network. This transformation aims to establish a competitive, efficient, and collaborative organization driven by performance, offering state-of-the-art services and a researcher-friendly career model. A significant aspect of this renewal is the update of the bilingual hun-ren.hu website, designed in line with the latest international standards.

The progress of this dynamic transformation will be regularly reported on the new website. A prominently featured section, highlighted in a distinct color in the top menu under the UPDATE tab, includes our summaries, thematic press news, and FAQs. Overall, the site has been restructured to simplify access to information about organizational changes, along with popular scientific and educational articles.

HUN-REN researchers can access information relevant to them via a dedicated section. Whether it’s a call for proposals, grant results, or services available under the AI 4 Science program launched last autumn, essential resources are now conveniently consolidated. Useful information on intellectual property and innovation is also available under the For Our Researchers menu, accessible through a shortcut on the main page or through dedicated tiles that provide direct access to AI-related updates. Researchers needing personalized AI support or details on available AI technologies will find this information on the updated site.

High-priority scientific content has been given a central focus on the renewed website. Starting mid-January, the volume of news on hun-ren.hu will increase significantly. The News menu now allows articles to be filtered by research centers and members, making it easier for readers to find news of interest. The scientific content is categorized by research areas in line with the Neumann János Programme, allowing users to explore topics by field. Additionally, organizational and institutional programs can now be searched by institution and date.

Multimedia content is now a prominent feature of the website, including videos and podcasts from our professional partners, such as Novum TV and Inforadio Szigma. These can be accessed directly from the front page. Soon, HUN-REN's central communications team will launch its own podcast series, which will also be highlighted on the main page. Furthermore, our social media channels – Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and YouTube – are now more visible, offering unique content for those interested in the national science and innovation ecosystem.

The website's design has been overhauled, offering a more streamlined and contemporary aesthetic. It provides a pleasant browsing experience on both desktop and mobile devices, meeting today’s technological and user expectations.
