Bridging Innovation: HUN-REN and ASU on New Collaborative Pathways

HUN-REN President Balázs Gulyás held productive discussions with representatives from Arizona State University (ASU), recognised as the most innovative university by U.S. News & World Report. The delegation from overseas included Dr. Chris Howard, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of ASU, Dr. Rick Shangraw, Professor of Practice in the School of Public Affairs in the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions, President of Cintana Education*, and Dr. Cagri Bagcioglu, Head of Eastern and Central Asia Department at Cintana Education. The talks focused on exploring potential cooperation between the two institutions.

Identified areas of collaboration could include trainings led by ASU professors for the envisaged HUN-REN Academy on tech transfer and entrepreneurship, science communication, and many more areas that would equip HUN-REN researchers with state-of-the-art expertise and practical skills to foster innovation, bridge academia and industry, and enhance societal outreach efforts. Additionally, joint research projects were discussed, focusing on cutting-edge technologies aimed at addressing pressing global challenges through international collaboration and knowledge sharing between HUN-REN and ASU.
